Bourke & Travers | Terroir in the Vineyard Tour

Walk past the usual cellar door experience with an exploration of the earth beneath our vines.

The Terroir in the Vineyard Tour gives guests an ‘access all areas’ pass to private areas of our family vineyards. 

Your adventure begins with a leisurely guided walking, and tasting, tour through the Bourke & Travers House Block (Mourvèdre) and Hill Block (Shiraz) vineyards.  The journey then continues to our Bush Block (Grenache) vineyard, with a sit down tasting of a selection of B&T wines.

This panoramic vineyard tour is a journey of discovery, offering insights into Bourke & Travers’ ancient vineyard soils, minimalist winemaking practices and the role the farm’s terroir plays in the creation of award-winning B&T wines.

The Terroir in the Vineyard Tour price includes wine, shared snacks such as a shared cheese plate and non-alcoholic beverages. A variety of wines will be sampled, including our award-winning Best Small Producer Trophy and medal wines from the 2023 Clare Valley Wine Show.

Cost : $65.00 per person

Capacity: Minimum two guests, maximum six guests 

Minimum age: 18 years

Duration: 1.5 hours - 10.50am arrival for a 11.00am start booking.

Availability:  September to April, unless booked out.

Group details: this is not a private tour, and other guests may form part of the experience. If you require a private/exclusive tour, please contact Penny directly to discuss options.

Fitness: Walking is on farm tracks and uneven ground; some steep up and down hill sections.

Weather: The Terroir in the Vineyard Tour is weather dependent and will be modified or postponed in the case of (really) poor weather. Bookings will be reviewed 48hrs prior to the tour date.

Booking platform: The first booking slot for each tour, will default to a pre-requisite of 2 x guest tickets to achieve the minimum spend requirement.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Meeting point:  Please meet at the cottage shed at 27 Diagonal Road, EMU FLAT, 5453 at 10.50am for an 11.00am start.  The tour will take approximately 90 minutes.

Clothing:  Comfortable enclosed walking shoes and suitable outdoor clothing is recommended. 

Dietary:  Please advise any dietary requirements at time of booking.

Poor weather considerations: A confirmation will be received at time of booking but will be reconfirmed, based on weather forecasts, 48 hours prior to the tour date.
